PURPLE DAY (Wednesday 26th March 2014)

We all got to mark this day in style.
Prior to the day, Caro, Emily and Muita took to social media to ask and encourage people to wear purple on that Wednesday, whereas Ann and Sitawa attended the launch of the Kenya National Guidelines for the Management of Epilepsy, at Laico Regency in town.

In the evening, we all met at Pawa 254 along State House Road in attendance to Sitawa’s launch of her poem’s (A little More )video . It really was a fun filled event as first and foremost it was held on the roof top of the Pawa 254 building, the atmosphere was cool and relaxed and the speakers that day were amazing. Oh there was plenty of wine and cheese, and the rain held back that day and we could literally see the sigh of relief on Sitawa’s face as she had really prayed it does not rain.  A lot of her friends were also in purple. She finally got to launch the video of her lovely poem ( A little more by Sitawa Wafula) by eight.

So what’s all the fuss about Purple day?
Purple Day is an international grassroots effort dedicated to increasing awareness about epilepsy worldwide. On March 26th annually, people in countries around the world are invited to wear purple and host events in support of epilepsy awarenes.

These are some of the photos that our friends shared with us on that lovely day.

Thank you very much for making this day the success that it was. God bless you all
