World Mental Health Day 2014

  1. World Mental Health Day (10 October) is a day for global mental health education, awareness and advocacy. It was first celebrated in 1992 at the initiative of the World Federation for Mental Health, a global mental health organization with members and contacts in more than 150 countries. The theme this year is "living" with schizophrenia.
The term Schizophrenia was coined by Swiss psychiatrist Eugene Bleuler.

Let me tell you a bit about the condition. According to WHO, It is a severe mental disorder characterized by profound disruptions in thinking affecting language, perception and the sense of self. Often includes psychotic experiences such as hearing voices or delusions.

As fellows from Basic Needs Youth fellowship, we have several activities lined up for that particular day.We will keep you posted..Until then, Spread the love, happiness and mental health awareness wherever you are.
